Don’t Be KODAK
Don’t Be KODAK
Welcome to our latest episode of 2-Rep Tuesday, where we bring an insight (Rep #1) and a question (Rep #2) from the world of high-performance to get your wheels turning.
🎯 Insight

Remember Kodak, the photography giant? They owned the industry and made photography a piece of cake for all of us. Then, they forgot to innovate.
As bytes and pixels were trending they doubled-down on film. By the time they acknowledged that digital was the future, the train had left the station. And, the rest is history.
Ironically, one of their own engineers has been credited with developing the prototype for the first digital camera. Yep, check it out. Steve Sasson was his name!
🎯 Question(s)
Ultimately, Kodak's failure was a result of unwillingness to adapt. They had next generation hardware and could have been first to market with digital cameras. Instead, they chose to stick with what got them there, and that strategy killed the company.
Leaders and coaches, as you assess your playbooks and evaluate your expertise, your culture, and your infrastructure, are you sticking with what got you there? Are you upgrading software, but using the same old hardware? Is it time to dig in and evaluate both?
The High-Performance Project is here to provide thoughtful insights on coaching science, athlete development, health, performance, and well-being. We are prepared to support the modernization of these critical areas at a critical time.
